MAST community projects turn every social trek<\/a> into real impact for local villages across the Makalu Arun region of Eastern Nepal. From clean-water taps to classroom supplies, each projectis funded directly by trekkers as well MAST company\u00a0 and managed locally for long-term sustainability.<\/p>

Education Support Program:<\/strong><\/p>

We have studied and found out that most of the \u00a0students studying at government schools<\/strong>\u00a0across the hilly area of Nepal, are from severely\u00a0disadvantaged family backgrounds<\/strong>. \u00a0<\/p>

  • Some of those kids\u00a0have lost one or both their parents<\/strong>.<\/li>
  • Others live with their\u00a0stepparents<\/strong> who may\u00a0not give top priority<\/strong>\u00a0for their\u00a0education.<\/li>
  • Some kids\u2019 parents have been suffering from\u00a0chronic diseases<\/strong> like heart, or kidney diseases or cancer.<\/li>
  • Some of the households have been\u00a0affected by natural disasters<\/strong> like flood, landslide, so are unable to solve their basic needs<\/li><\/ul>

    \u00a0These children from the various\u00a0family problems<\/strong>\u00a0have been going to school\u00a0without school dress<\/strong>, school bags and shoes and shocks.<\/p>

    They are going to schools without stationery like notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, Pencil shapers, crayons etc. \u00a0Without these above basic materials with them, those kids\u00a0feel embarrassed at the school.<\/strong>\u00a0Their class teachers often scold them for not having the necessary materials. Their teacher\u2019s such behavior among their friends has been playing a great role for further discouraging their attendance at the school.<\/p>

    How we support those kids?<\/strong><\/p>

    \u00a0Through our Company business profit, we:<\/p>

    1. Distribute necessary school supplies<\/strong>(uniforms, stationery, school bags, and shoes & shocks, school stationery like notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, Pencil shapers, crayons, etc. to them. \u00a0<\/li>
    2. Create an environment\u00a0<\/strong>for such the children who can\u00a0feel welcomed<\/strong> at school which will be helpful to reduce the risk of humiliation or mistreatment by their friends.<\/li>
    3. Improve\u00a0school attendance<\/strong> and regularity and educational outcomes<\/strong>\u00a0among these kids.<\/li>
    4. Increased motivation for children to pursue education and build a better future for them.<\/li><\/ol>

      Food Materials Distribution Program for Elderly Homes.<\/strong><\/p>

      At Manakamana Elderly Home\u00a0located in\u00a0<\/strong>Khandbari, Sankhuwasabha district of Eastern Nepal there are almost 32 old aged \u00a0individuals living there.<\/p>

      Apart from one or two men all are women from \u00a0\u00a060 to 90 years old<\/strong>.\u00a0 \u00a0They have come from different villages due to various family problems.<\/p>

      These people depend on limited food materials and charity donations from visitors to the nearby temple. Due to the low number of temple visitors and their limited charitable donations to the old people, it is very difficult for them to quench their appetite.\u00a0<\/p>

      In order to \u00a0support them, we have a launched an online fundraising program through global giving. \u00a0MAST also \u00a0distributes food materials to them to ensure they have\u00a0 easy access to food, reducing food insecurity and enhancing their quality of life.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
