Terms and conditions

1.Booking Conditions:

The  Trekking packages  described on this Website are operated by Makalu Arun Social Trek MAST) Khandbari, Sankhuwasabha , Nepal. The following booking conditions apply to all the trips.

2.Booking:

 MAST trekking packages booking  will be confirmed in advance, prior to your  arrival in Nepal. In case it is necessary booking can also be confirmed after you arrive in Nepal.

3.Payment:

3.1 Payment For Trekking: All  trekking  are booked with  Makalu Arun Social Trek (MAST). A  25% of the total contracted price is needed by us to confirm your participation in your desired  trekking . You can transfer money to our company bank account online. The remainder of the total cost  needs to be paid either before your arrival in  Nepal or upon arrival in Kathmandu, or in Khandbari  before you commence your trek.

4.Cancellation Policy

4.1 Cancellation by MAST

If in case of the rare trip cancelation by MAST , we will notify you at the earliest and we will refund you the 100% trip deposit you have made, but there is no compensation policy.

4.2 Cancellation by you.

In case you cancel the trip after the booking of your trekking package, the trekking  cost   deposited by you is non-refundable.

5.Unforeseen Circumstances:

The traveler/ trekker should understand that during the course of the trip, certain risks and dangers may occur,  the hazards of traveling in mountainous terrain, accident or illness in remote places without medical facilities, and the forces of nature. The traveler/trekker agrees to assume all risks associated with the journey, and agrees that no liability will be attached to the company or its staff , employees or agents, or to any member of the tour group in respect to death, personal injury, illness or delay of traveler/trekker, or for any loss or damage to the property of the traveler/trekker during the course of the trip. We cannot be held liable for any loss or damage to your personal belongings during the trip, which may be caused by the service provider, or factors beyond our control, such as government regulations, natural disasters, war, terrorism, theft, sickness, accidents, and other unforeseen events

6.Itinerary Amendments

It is important to note that our itinerary is adjustable to accommodate your preferences. After meeting with our porter and company representative in Khandbari, we welcome your input on any special interests you have. Based on your availability, preferences, and interests, we can make modifications to the itinerary. Please be advised that these changes may result in an increase or decrease in the total cost of your program, and you may be required to pay more or less than the previously agreed-upon price.

7.Incomplete tours:

Unfortunately, in the event that you are unable to complete your program due to unfavorable conditions such as bad weather or your illness, we regret that we cannot provide a refund to you.

8.Code of Conduct:

We trust that you will travel responsibly and show respect for the traditions and cultures of the local communities. Please be advised that we reserve the right to enforce proper conduct during your trip. If you engage in any illegal activities, you may be asked to leave the tour without a refund

9.Travel Insurance 

Before participating in our trekking program, it is mandatory that you have secured comprehensive travel insurance from a reputable insurance company in your home country. Your policy should include coverage for death, personal accidents, medical expenses, natural disasters, helicopter evacuation, trip cancellation, and any other relevant items.

10.Personal Belongings:

To ensure the safe handling of your luggage, we take all necessary precautions. We recommend keeping valuable items such as money in your backpack for added security. Your porter guide will carry less valuable items in a separate rucksack. However, please be advised that the porter guide will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to your luggage or personal belongings, including fragile, valuable, or perishable items, that may occur during transportation due to circumstances beyond our control.

11.Passport, Visa, and Travel Documents:

It is your responsibility to have all required documents, such as passports, visas, and permits. We cannot be held responsible for any issues that arise during your departure or arrival by air or ground transportation due to incorrect information or missing travel documents

12.Flight Delay and Cancellation

By reserving extra days in your itinerary, you are acknowledging the potential for delays in your travel caused by unpredictable weather and high flight cancellations, particularly in the Everest region. You acknowledge the need for patience and preparation as essential factors for a successful trip in the Himalayan region.
