For an enriching day excursion around Khandbari, we highly recommend the Char Dhara Trek, a gem nestled in Khandbari Municipality Ward No. 11, Angla Ghale Gaun, Sankhuwasabha district in Eastern Nepal.
This captivating site boasts four expansive natural water taps fed by springs, offering crystal-clear water that remains warm in winter and refreshingly cold in spring. Visitors are welcome to drink the pristine water, partake in bathing rituals, and engage in worship at the temple.
Embarking on the trek, which spans approximately four hours on foot from Khandbari Bazaar, leads you through picturesque locales like Mane Bhangyang, Arun Than, and Sittal Pati Danda, ultimately reaching the serene Char Dhara. For a more scenic return route, consider traversing Harela Danda – Sekaya village, culminating in a pleasant arrival back at Khandbari in the evening.
Buddha Air operates a daily 30-minute trip from the Kathmandu airport to Tumlingtar. Meet the staff of MAST firm there. After that, take an auto rickshaw to your hotel room in Khandbari, which will take 15 minutes.
To reach Char Dhara, a beautiful and holy place in the Khandbari area, you can start a 4-hour trek from Khandbari Bazaar, passing through Mane Bhangyang, Arun Than, and Sittal Pati Danda (Hillside) before reaching Char Dhara. For a more scenic route, you can come back Khandbari through Harela Danda and Sekaya village.
On this day, you visit Khandbari market and buy various locally made goods as souvenirs, such as locally waved money bags, Rudrakshya, Sugra can (Sakhar), sheep woolen blanket (Radi), and Allo clothes. You also have time to visit any hospital, school, or project that our organization supports, as well as engage in whatever voluntary work you want.
Get ready to head to Tumlingtar airport after breakfast at your accommodation at 8 a.m. Take a fifteen-minute ride in an autorickshaw to arrive to the airport. Once you’ve checked in, bid farewell to the corporate personnel and relish your picturesque journey to Kathmandu.
You can choose to pay in US dollars or Nepali rupees for the services rendered by our firm. On the other hand, you would have to pay local service providers in Nepali rupees when trekking. It is a good idea to have some spare change on hand since you never know when you’ll need it.
Since the hiking path is not very frequented, reservations for tea houses or homestay accommodations along it are not required. On the day of arrival, however, your porter guide will notify the tea house ahead of time.
