Milke Danda Trek is  a hidden treasure amid the less-traveled paths in far Eastern Nepal.The trekking offers an abundance of breathtaking scenery, fascinating topography, rich wildlife, energetic culture, and friendly locals.

With its uncommon alpine flora and thick lush vegetation, the area is known for its magnificent springtime display of 28 different species of rhododendron woods. In summer, it becomes a haven for botanists, naturalists, and lovers of flowers.

  • Local tea house or homestay food and accommodation cost throughout the trekking route has not been included in the total trekking pckage cost. Your meals and accommodation will be your responsibility. You pay directly to your service providers from your pocket.

Milke Danda Trek Itinerary (9 Days)

Day 1Khandbari (1036m)

Buddha Air Flight from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar Airport (30 minutes). At the airport, a MAST staff member greets and receives you. Take a vehicle, travel for fifteen minutes, and check into a hotel room in Khandbari.
Introduce yourself to your porter guide when you meet him at the hotel. Talk about the overall plan for the journey. Spend the night in the Khandbari hotel.

Day 2:Travel from Khandbari to Chainpur, Trek from Chainpur to Pokhari

After your breakfast at about 8 am at the hotel catch your reserved Van and travel for about two hours and get Chainpur bus station. Get off the van. Your real trekking starts from Chanpur. Follow the trail to Pokharei ,and after about two hours’s walking get Pokhari for your overnight stay there. Explore Pokhari village and enjoy sightseeing and capturing photos around the place

Day 3:Trek from Pokhari to Nundhaki

Start your hike at 8 a.m. after eating breakfast. To reach Nundhaki, keep trekking for four to six hours. For your overnight stay, locate one of the top tea houses there

Day 4:Trek from Nundhaki to Gupha Pokhari (2900m)

After breakfast at 8 am trek for 4- 6 hours and get Gupha Pokhari in the evening. Find one of the best tea houses there for your food and accommodation.

Day 5:Gupha Pokhari Exploration day.

This is day is your Gupha Pokhari exploration day. The place is located along the Tinjure Milke Jaljale Trail, famously referred to as the “Rhododendron capital of Nepal.” This region boasts the highest concentration of Rhododendron species, with 28 out of 32 found in Nepal. The region not only home to various species of rhododendrons, but also a wealth of other flora and fauna, including a diverse range of bird species, mammals, and breathtaking views of majestic peaks such as Makalu (8463m) Kangchenjunga(8586m) and Mt. Everest(8848m) when visibility is clear

Day 6:Gupha to Milke Danda(3690 m) Exploration day

Day 7:Trek fom Gupha Pokhari to Chauki (2,700m)

After breakfast your breakfast at 8 am , trek up to Chauki (4-6 hours trekking). Enjoy observing the beautiful scene of rhododendron glowering there. Find one of the best tea houses at Chauki for your overnight stay.

Day 8Trek from Chauki to Basantapur (2,200m)

Have your breakfast at 8 am and trek up to Basantapur (4-6 hours trekking). Find one of the best hotels there for your food and accommodation. Explore Basantapur and capture pictures of those places.

Day 9Travel from Basantapur to Kathmandu

After your breakfast prepare for travelling. Catch a regular bus coming from Dharan to Khandbari and travel for about three hours and get Khandbari Bus station. Bus station catch an auto rickshaw and travel to your pre booked hotel room for your overnight stay

Question 1.Do I need any Permits to enjoy this trek?

Yes You need TIMS card to enjoy trek on this route. But you do not need to pay any National Park entrance fees.

Question 2.Is it possible to book hotel room along the Makalu trek in Advance?

Pre-booking of tea houses or homestay rooms along this trekking route is not mandatory, as the route is not overly crowded.

Question 3..Which currency is accepted on this tour?

You have the option to pay for our company services in either US dollars or Nepali rupees. However, during the trekking route, you will need to pay in Nepali rupees to local all service providers. It’s advisable to carry some change for convenient.
