Makalu Arun Social Trek (MAST) is a nonprofit assisting social trekking agency legally established in Nepal by SESF Khandbari. Since 2010, MAST has been organizing social trekking for interested guests around the Makalu Arun Valley Region in eastern Nepal.
Distribute educational materials, scholarships, and infrastructure to support local schools.
At Manakamana an Elderly Home located in Khandbari, Sankhuwasabha district of Eastern Nepal there are almost 35 elderly individuals, mostly women, living. They are from 60 to 90 years old. Most of them are old and weak and are helpless people who have come to different local villages to live there permanently.
These individuals depend on limited food materials and charity donations from visitors to the nearby temple.
Due to the low number of temple visitors and their limited charitable donations to the old people, it is very difficult for them to fill up to quench their appetite.
To support them, SESF has launched an online fundraising program through global giving. MAST aims to support SESF in distributing food supplies as well as a monthly allowance for clothes, fruits, vegetables and other necessities for these 35-year-olds.
We welcome individuals and businesses to join our social service. Your help and participation can make a big difference in achieving our aspirations and improving the quality of life in local communities.
More targeted statistics about our social service can be found in our full report. These individuals depend on a limited amount of food and charitable donations from visitors to a nearby temple.
