Arun Valley
The Arun Valley is MAST's home. Our office is in Khandbari, above the Arun River in Sankhuwasabha, and these are the trails our guides and porters grew up on. Treks here follow village paths north to Kimathanka on the Tibetan border, along the Milke Danda ridge, to the sacred lake of Sabha Pokhari and the springs of Char Dhara. You stay in homestays and tea houses run by Rai, Limbu, Sherpa and Bhote families, and meet very few other trekkers. It's the best region to see everyday life in eastern Nepal, and the schools your trek supports.
